The beer is flowing again in an Owego taproom that had been used by a Tioga County craft brewery.

Lucky Hare Brewing Company of Hector has set up shop at 17 Lake Street. The new taproom began operating Thursday for a soft opening.

The place had been home to Farmhouse Brewery until last October. Farmhouse shut down about eight years after it was founded.

Lucky Hare Brewing Company began renovating the site several weeks ago. Although much of the setup is similar to the previous operation, some changes have been made.

Lucky Hare Brewing president Richard Thiel said a grand opening celebration for the Owego taproom is planned for May 24.

The company also is preparing to hold an event to mark the seventh anniversary of its taproom in Hector on Seneca Lake on May 20.

In addition to the two taprooms, Lucky Hare operates a production facility in Watkins Glen.
